Free Query Fan Out Tool

See the sub-queries ChatGPT and Google AI Mode generate from one prompt. Free query fan-out tool, all three engines.

What is Query Fan out?

Query fan-out is the step where an AI engine breaks one prompt into several narrower searches, runs them at once, and builds a single answer from the results. Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT and Perplexity all do it. That means your page isn't competing for the query someone typed, it's competing for eight or twelve sub-queries you never see. A query fan-out tool shows you what they are.

Why your #1 ranking page still isn't cited

A page can own the head term and still be missing from the answer. Usually the reason is coverage, not quality: the engine ran twelve sub-queries, your page answered three of them well, and someone else answered the rest. The citation goes to whoever filled the gap.

The free Query Fan Out tool shows you those sub-queries before you write anything. Run one prompt across Google AI Overview, Google AI Mode and ChatGPT, see where the expansions differ, and mark every question your site has no clear answer for. That list is your content brief, built from how engines actually retrieve instead of from search volume.

      How it works

This free tool helps you understand how ChatGPT/Google AI Mode/Google AI Overview expands a single search query into multiple underlying searches.

By simulating the fan-out process, you can see which variations Google and ChatGPT might generate, how they connect to your original query, and why results look the way they do. It's a quick way to explore and learn the hidden mechanics behind AI-powered search.

What can you learn from the Query Fan Out Tool?

Every run gives you a list of the searches an engine is likely to make behind your prompt. That list answers four questions you can't get from a rank tracker:

Which questions you're actually competing on.

The prompt someone types is one thing. The eight or twelve searches the engine runs underneath it are what your page gets measured against.

        Where your content stops.

Go through the expansions and mark the ones your site has no clear answer for. That's your gap list, and it's usually shorter and more specific than a keyword export.

        How intent splits.

Fan-outs separate into comparisons, qualifiers ("for beginners", "under $50"), follow-ups and adjacent intents. Seeing the split tells you whether a topic needs one deep page or several focused ones.
